A massage therapist at your door on your birthday with a massage table. Already paid for. (nonsexual, very professional)

No. Then again, I don’t care for massages in general. Even if you’re the type who gets massages, I would think a surprise of that kind would be a little wierd.

No. People who aren’t in the habit of having massages (and many who are) are sensitive about their personal space, the condition of their body hair, etc etc. This would be a very intrusive gift. I dont like unexpected company because I might be in yesterday’s Tshirt which I slept in, and people who live alone support a green Earth by not flushing unless we have to.
Also, I have no tolerance for pain and there’s no way I’d submit to a new masseuse without an interview.

A gift certificate for a massage on a day of my choosing, and not in my home, would be a great gift, but a surprise massage and on top of that one at home — no thanks.
I’d like that about as much as I’d like being surprised by a maid coming to clean my house.
